Sri Ahobila Mutt, one of the foremost among the religious orders of the Hindus, was founded 600 years ago by His Holiness Srimad Adivan Satakopa Yatindra Mahadesika at Sri Ahobilam, a holy place atop a hill near Cuddapah, Andhra Pradesh, at the initiative of Lord Lakshmi Nrisimha Himself. The 600th anniversary of the Mutt was celebrated in October 1998 at Ahobilam.

The Temple is open for darshan from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM daily. The Temple opens with a Vishwa Roopa Darshanam followed by Abhigamana Aradhana in the morning and Panagha Aradhana in the evening. In addition, Thirumanjanam (Abhishekam), Archana, Dolotsavam (Utsava Murthies placed on an Unjal (swing) decorated with flowers and ornaments) and Kalyana Utsavam (Marriage ceremony of the Lord). Devotees can contribute towards these sevas and the prasadams offered in the Temple.
