Nithyasree's rapertoire is a unique gift by her illustrious Paternal grand-mother Gana Saraswathy Smt.D.K.Pattammal, the doyen of Carnatic Music and her maternal grand-father the mirudangam maestro one and the only Palghat Mani Iyer.

I shall honestly say she is a worthy grand-daughter of these doyens or Pillars of carnatic music. She is also proud to have Sri.D.K.Jeyaraman as her Paternal uncle.Music lovers have a very strong hope that she will  continue to render their golden melodies in her chaste style for many decades to come.

Though hailing from a very powerful family of musicians, she is an artiste in her own right. Nithya takes pride in confessing that her grand-mother D.K.Pattammal is her role-model but she does want to be a carbon copy of her grandmother.Nithya definitely is a chip of the old block. She genuinely feels her sole important responsibility and duty to keep alive the great tradition set by her family.

sNithya has been performing right from 1987 onwards, Her maiden performance being for YACM(Youth Association For Classical Music) on 10 th August 1987 in which she bagged the best concert Award of the series. After that she has not looked back. Her progress is not instantaneous or sudden but a steady path.

She is a A.I.R prize winner(1990) and presently an 'A' graded artiste. She has been awarded the "YUVA KALA BHARATHI" title by Bharath Kalachar in 1994 and "INNISAI MAAMANI" by Tamil Nadu Welfare Association. She has performed in all major sabhas all over India and has presented her concerts in U.S.A, Canada etc in 1996.

She Has received "Best Concert Award" from The Music Academy during the music festivals a couple of times. She has also performed for the "Sangeeth Natak Academy" twice in their International Music Festivals in Bombay and Hyderabad. She has presented a paper on the Life and Contribution of Gopala Krishna Bharathy for the Music Deparment of PSG College ,Coimbatore.

She has given numerous concerts consisting of only patriotic songs to commemorate the 50 th year of Indian Independence and she says she has inhibited this patriotic feeling from her grand-mother Smt.DKP.

Nithyasree has also given a Lecture Demonstration in Coimbatore for Manoranjitham on "Papanasam Sivan - A Legend".

She has received the "Best Promising Artiste" from "Mohanam" Music Club .

Nithyasree feels that being in the hearts of real music lovers forever is an artistes true achievement.
